Reverend Lennis Baugh (Senior Minister) Rev. Baugh came to Unity of Bellingham on January 1st , 2010. He moved to the Northwest in 2002 and for 3 years served as Senior Minister at Whidbey Island Unity. Since then Rev. Baugh has supported countless churches in the Pacific Northwest as a minister, workshop leader, and guest speaker.

He earned a BA in Psychology from John F. Kennedy University, in Orinda, California, and an MA in Creation Spirituality from Naropa University/University of Creation Spirituality, in Oakland California. He became an ordained minister in June 2002 after completing the Ministerial Education Program at Unity School, Unity Village, Missouri.

In the past 26 years, Rev. Lennis (as he prefers to be known) spent the majority of his career as a trained professional counselor, working with all forms of addiction and co-dependency issues. He is highly respected by his colleagues and clients for his life enhancing insights and counseling abilities. These insights served him well when he worked in lead positions for several treatment programs and in the development of new programs.

Rev. Lennis’ journey began in 1981 at which time he had a spiritual awakening that lead him to the 12 step programs of recovery. Through his experience with 12 steps (a journey inward), he developed a relationship with a God of love, compassion, joy, and grace. With this new found understanding of God, Rev. Lennis set forth on a journey of discovery. These new paths led him to explore numerous avenues of spiritual growth and the study of world religions. After many years of meditation, deep study, and other spiritual practices, he began looking for a spiritual home that would embrace his belief that “spiritual growth is an inward journey” and in turn he began attending Unity of Modesto, CA, where after the first service he knew he found home. There he immediately embraced his spiritual community and began serving it in whatever capacity he could. His service at Unity Church included facilitating men’s groups, an in-home study group trainer, a prayer chaplain, Y.O.U. director, board member, substitute speaker, and other areas.

On a personal note, Rev. Lennis believes what leads us to our true nature as children of the Divine, is our ability to embrace our childlike nature, to see the magic and joy in everything and to share that energy with others. He, himself shares that magic with his greatest joys which are his 3 children living in California and his 4 grandchildren.
